Elba Rose is a solo artist originally from Cambridgeshire, currently based in Brighton UK crafting moody alternative pop tracks with hiphop influenced drum sounds and patterns, featuring raw, honest and scenic lyrical storytelling and ethereal vocals. Growing up in the fens in Cambridgeshire the youngest of three, Elba was surrounded by varying music tastes; from 60s and 80s music through her parents to Rap, Hip Hop and Brit-pop from her older siblings. Moving too Brighton for university, Elba was submerged in a diverse music scene and met her now producer RUINER. 

 

Coined as “a songwriter that needs to be played loud” by Clout, in 2022 Elba released her debut EP ‘wallflower’, which led her to receiving spins on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, Amazing Radio UK and US and her single ‘Dead End’ securing spots in Spotify editorial playlists including New Music Friday, UK and An Alternative Future. Live highlights in 2022 include opening for Wallis Bird at Colours, Hoxton in London and performing at ILuvLive showcase at Wembley Boxpark.

 

Following up on ‘Wallflower’ Elba is back with a bang in 2023, releasing a slew of new singles off her second EP out in November 2023 including ‘Blood Bath’ and Playing Pretty’ which gained her a New Music Generator Award nomination for Best Female Solo Artist and most recently ‘Fleeting Fickle’ which was added to Jodie Bryants Radar 45 Fresh Sound playlist. Highlights in 2023 so far include performing at BBC Introducing Cambridgeshires showcase, attending Grammy nominated Chris Diffords songwriting retreat and performing at a secret stage at Isle of Wight Festival for Love Your Tent.
